Trust Issues: Why New Creators Get Ignored (and How We Earn It Back)
Share
Let’s have some real talk.
Running a small business isn't just about cute clothes, catchy captions, or perfectly styled flat lays. It’s late nights with a laptop and cold coffee. It’s hustling through school drop-offs and sports practices. It’s wondering why some people “love supporting small” but suddenly go silent when it’s your small business.
Here’s the truth:
People don’t always trust new creators.
Not because we’re doing something wrong—but because they’ve been burned before.
Ghosted after placing an order. Hype with no follow-through. Mystery drops that stayed a mystery. So now, they scroll. They wait. They watch.
And as a boutique owner who’s been building this with my daughter since 2016, I feel that hesitation. Every time I launch a new style, drop a new blog, or run a promo—I know some people are watching to see if I’m “for real.”
But here’s how we flip that:
-
We show up consistently.
Whether it's in my Facebook group, IG stories, or this very blog—I’m here. Not polished, not perfect. Just present. -
We overdeliver.
Packages go out within 24 hours (excluding holidays). We treat every order like it's from a VIP—because it is. -
We stay human.
I post behind-the-scenes chaos. I laugh at the fails. I celebrate the wins (with coffee in hand and leggings on, of course).
So if you’re a fellow creator? Don’t stop showing up. They are watching. And you’re building trust every time you show up again.
And if you’re a shopper standing on the sidelines, wondering if this boutique is worth it?
Take the leap. We’re not just selling clothes—we’re building something that matters.
